Top Eleven Precious Metals Producers Market Capitalization At The Lowest Point Since 2008

Precious Metals Producers Sector is a tiny segment. Currently, eleven biggest precious metals producers hold total market capitalization of around $79 billion. Please, look at the chart below:

Well, this capitalization stands at irrationally low level. Many individual companies have much higher capitalizations than these ten companies in total. For example:
  • Apple: $733 billion
  • Exxon Mobil: $301 billion
  • Google: $363 billion
  • Facebook: $275 billion

etc, etc.

Simply put, the whole PM sector is one the most hated segments. Another one, even more hated, is the coal sector. But there is at least one substantial difference between these sectors. PM producers are doing much better, even at today's low prices of gold and silver, than coal companies.

Top eleven producers according to Simple Digressions: Barrick Gold, Goldcorp, Newmont Mining, Agnico Eagle, Anglo Gold, Yamana Gold, Eldorado Gold, Fresnillo, Gold Fields, Randgold, Kinross.
